Safe Foods
Any food given should be organic, free of chemicals and dyes. Like humans and other animals, gerbils should only be fed treats in moderation (twice per week). Any fruit and vegetables that has not been eaten with in 30 minutes needs to be removed from their tank and thrown away.

Seeds: Sesame Seeds (White) Hemp Seeds Chia Seeds Flax Seeds Sunflower Seeds Pumpkin Seeds
Nuts: (no salt, roasted, or have skins) Almonds Coconut Flakes Peanuts Walnuts Pistachio Cashews Hazelnut Brazil Nuts Pine Nuts
Vegetables: (small amounts only) Split Peas / Peas Cucumber Broccoli Carrots Bell peppers Cauliflower leaves and stalks Brussels sprouts Spinach Green Beans Corn / Flaked Corn Radish
Fruits: (small amounts only, can not have seeds from fruits) Apples Strawberries Blueberries Raspberries Pomegranates Grapes Raisins (unsulphured) Plum Peaches Tomato Dried apricots (unsulphured) Dried berries (unsulphured) Cherry Pears
Other Items: Breakfast Cereals = Plain Cheerios, Rice Crispy, Shredded Wheat. (low fat, no sugar) Toast Eggs (scrambled or boiled) Cheese (small amounts only) Toast Meal Worms (live or frozen) (pet store only) Crickets (pet store only)
