Safe Woods
Wishing to decorate your gerbils tank as a natural environment? As discussed before Pine and Cedar is extremely bad for a gerbils respiratory system, however there are lots of woods that are safe.
Any woods offered should be chemical free and properly cleaned (kiln dried) to kill off any parasites that live inside. Never use woods that have been painted, has been exposed to pesticides, or treated such as some lumber at lumber yards. Woods that ooz sap, have a strong aromatic or very red woods should never be used.
